  • ENGEL ON RENT INCREASE: TOO HIGH AND UNDERSERVED
    The proposed rent increases for rent stabilized apartments threaten to put lower income people out in the street, Congressman Eliot Engel said, and he blamed the Bush Administration’s lack of a national oil policy for creating the problem. “Landlords,” he said, “blame the rising price of oil, and this Administration’s unwillingness to create a realistic oil policy is leading us down a road to ruin.”
