Congressman Engel announces over $3 million HUD award for homeless services

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Eliot Engel (NY-16) announced that the U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded over $3 million in grants to non-profits and governmental agencies in his Congressional District, which will provide social services and housing assistance to homeless individuals and families.

“These grants will allow local government agencies and nonprofit to continue serving one of our most vulnerable populations: the homeless. Securing housing and finding suitable work enables homeless individuals to sustain themselves and their families. I am pleased that communities in my District will receive a combined total of over $3 million in funding to meet the needs of our homeless population.
