Engel Urges Swift Resolution to Carriage Dispute Between Altice USA and Walt Disney Company

Washington, D.C.—Congressman Eliot Engel is urging a local television provider and network to come to a swift resolution to their latest contract dispute. The current controversy could result in New Yorkers losing access to Disney-owned stations like ABC and ESPN due to contractual issues with Altice.

“I urge both sides to put the families subscribing to and watching their programs first, and come to an agreement as soon as possible without any lapses in broadcasting,” said Congressman Engel.  “We cannot allow customers to be victimized by ongoing business negotiations between broadcasters and cable providers. I remain hopeful both sides are fully committed to reaching a deal so that New York viewers don’t lose their favorite programming and news.”
